It’s worth giving up paper mail
Many of you still receive invoices and statements from us in paper form. Now is a good time to sign up for e-invoices, for example, so that everything can be handled electronically.
If you wish, VAV can send your invoices as e-invoices directly to your online banking service or a digital post app, such as OmaPosti or Kivra. Notices that you have previously received from us by post can also be sent directly to your digital app if you wish.
We recommend that you sign up for both e-invoices and the digital post app. This will make your banking easier. At the same time, it will reduce the carbon footprint caused by paper invoices.
What is an e-invoice?
An e-invoice is an electronic invoice sent directly from the invoicer to your online banking service or to the digital mail app you use.
An e-invoice contains all the information you need to make the payment. If you have online banking credentials, all you need to do is approve the invoice and pay it with just a few clicks.
What is a digital mail app?
There are several digital post apps available. OmaPosti is an app provided by Posti that allows you to receive invoices and other postal items electronically. Another option is Kivra, to which you can redirect all letter post sent by us. The services are free, but require registration.
You can download the apps onto your smartphone or use them as a web service on your computer. In the app settings, you can select which senders’ post is forwarded to the app. The apps allow you, for example, to pay bills directly from the app.
Why should you stop using paper invoices and other paper post?
- Electronic invoices are easy to manage. You can view, pay and archive invoices digitally anywhere and at any time.
- Electronic invoicing offers better data security than traditional postal invoicing.
- Paper invoices can get lost or end up in the wrong hands, whereas with electronic invoicing, your data is secure and accessible only to you.
- Electronic invoicing is a more environmentally friendly option than traditional paper invoices. The production, transport and disposal of paper generate a significant carbon footprint.
