Become a recycling ambassador and encourage your neighbours to sort their waste
HSY’s call for applications for Recycling Ambassadors is now open. Apply by 3 May 2026 at the latest.
As a recycling ambassador, you’ll hand out organic waste bags and sorting guides to your neighbours. You can also do other things to promote sorting in your own block of flats. For example, you can post about current recycling-related topics on the block’s own communication channels.
As a thank you for serving as a recycling ambassador, you’ll receive two cinema tickets and organic waste bags for your own use.
The campaign is organised by Helsinki Region Environmental Services (HSY). Read more and fill in the application form on the HSY website.
HSY is responsible for selecting the recycling ambassadors
HSY will select a suitable number of participants from the applicants for its campaign. Priority will be given to properties that have not yet had a recycling ambassador.
If you acted as a recycling ambassador during VAV’s 2024 Year of Sorting and Recycling in the campaign organised by VAV and HSY, you may reapply to take part. However, the final decisions on selection will be made by HSY.
