CEO’s message: Thank you for the past year
Another year of everyday encounters in our own neighbourhoods is now behind us. I would like to thank all of you who have fostered a spirit of goodwill and cooperation in your blocks of flats. There are so many of you! Small gestures, such as saying hello in the stairwell or spending a moment together in the courtyard, really do make a difference. A sense of community is strengthened when each of us plays our part.
The past year has demonstrated even more clearly that affordable rental homes are needed so that even those on low incomes can afford to build a good and sustainable everyday life in Vantaa. It is vital for the city’s vitality that workers in all sectors can afford to make our city their home.
It has been a memorable year for VAV in many ways. Our two most recent new-build developments were completed in September. Residents have made the new blocks in Asola and Myyrmäki their own. We are hearing that people are enjoying living there. This valuable feedback helps us to plan our future developments.
This year, celebrations are taking place in many refurbished homes. We are known for our systematic refurbishments, which we have continued this year as usual. Hundreds of kitchens, bathrooms and other rooms have also been refurbished this year.
Our attention is gradually turning to the coming year. 2026 will be VAV’s anniversary year, as we have been providing affordable housing in Vantaa for 40 years. The anniversary year will bring with it a variety of events. Among other things, we’ll be inviting all our residents to a major residents’ event. We’ll provide more details as the event approaches.
Next year, the OmaVAV service for residents will also be revamped to better meet residents’ needs for online services. As part of our development of digital services, our website will also be updated over the coming year. These changes are designed to ensure that dealing with us is smooth and easy.
