A home for the people of Vantaa for 40 years
For 40 years, we have played a key role in providing rental homes in Vantaa. VAV began operating in the mid-1980s, and today we have around 12 000 homes.
This year, we’re celebrating 40 years of operation in many different ways.
Some of the highlights of our 40th anniversary year include
- Resident events: Later this year, our residents will have the opportunity to take part in a special Heureka Day for residents, as well as our traditional Christmas concert.
- Smoother digital services: Our digital services, OmaVAV and website, will undergo major improvements throughout the year. Residents will also benefit from improved broadband services.
- New and renewed homes: The renovation of our residential building on Mäyräkuja in Korso was completed this summer. The new senior centre in Tikkurila will be ready for residents to move in at the beginning of 2027.

Nearly 30 years at VAV: “Neighbourhood means a lot”
“I moved into a VAV home in Koivukylä in 1997 and have lived in this building ever since – almost 30 years,” says Hannele Raistakka. For her, the best thing about living with VAV is the sense of comfort and community.
Almost 30 years of housing advice at VAV
When VAV’s housing advice service was established, it was a pioneering initiative in Finland. VAV launched the service in 1998. The role of our housing advisors is to support VAV residents so that they can continue living in their homes despite various challenges.
